A RARE AND IMPORTANT IMPERIAL SPINACH-GREEN JADE BRUSHPOT
A RARE AND IMPORTANT IMPERIAL SPINACH-GREEN JADE BRUSHPOT QIANLONG PERIOD, DATED TO THE SUMMER OF THE YIMAO YEAR, CORRESPONDING TO A.D. 1795 The cylindrical brushpot intricately carved in deep relief and in openwork with three immortals admiring a scroll, standing before a pavilion set in a forest of pine and wutong trees, with the characters Fan Tong xian lu inscribed on a rock, which describes the scene of the Daoist Paradise, with a waterfall on the reverse and another group of figures bearing tribute, approaching a foot-bridge spanning a flowing river, the top of the mouth rim incised with a twenty-eight character inscription from a Qianlong poem, followed by the inscription, Qianlong yimao yuti , and the seal, De , 'virtue', all raised on five ruyi -form scroll feet, the stone of a rich mottled spinach-green tone 5 1/2 in.
