A rare bronze and gilt-bronze sculptural mantel clock, French, circa 1825 bell striking silk suspension movement, 5½-inch annular dial forming the wheel of the cannon carriage, flanked by draped pennants and armourments and an officer carrying a rifle, raised on a rectangular base cast with a scene of mourning flanked by wreathed banners engraved Honneur et Patrie and Piéte Filiale, with martial feet 69cm. 27in. high
