The body is carved with taotie flanked by scrolling leaf motifs below a band of key frets to the rim and applied to both sides with mythical lion-head handles. The domed cover is carved with taotie-masks amid scrolling leaves below an openwork finial carved with a coiled dragon among lotus. 8 1⁄4 in. (21 cm.) wide across the handles
