A RARE COPPER-RED AND UNDERGLAZE-BLUE DECORATED 'DRAGON' FISH BOWL KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722) The bowl is sturdily potted with deep sides gently curved inwards to the lipped rim. The exterior of the body is finely painted in bright tones of copper-red to depict two ferocious five-clawed dragons striding amidst flames and clouds in pursuit of the flaming pearl above crashing waves. The dragons' eyes and double lines around the foot and below the rim are picked out in underglaze blue. 15½ in. (39.4 cm.) diam.
