A rare early 18th-Century Irish brass equinoctial minute compass sundial, signed Lynch Dublin , the silvered chapter ring graduated in hours III-XII, I-IX, the rack and pinion minute dial with silvered dial with one-minute subdivisions and surmounted by a folding arc with central pinhole sight, with folding black paper-covered shadow bar and fret-cut central decoration, a square hole at the centre for the folding latitude arm graduated 0-90° with 1° subdivisions, over the silvered compass with circumference degree scale in four quadrants, eight points, blued-iron needle and further fret-cut decoration over the glass, the horizontal plate with inset bubble level ( obscured ) and two adjustable screw feet, in a felt-lined fitted mahogany case with boxwood stringing to the lid -- 22.7cm. (9in.) wide
