A Rare Group of Six to 2381330 S/SGT, R. A.Tugwell, Glider Pilot Regiment, comprising 1939-45 & F&G Campaign Stars; Defence & War Medals; G.S.M., GR VI, 1 clasp, Palestine 1945-48, ( S/SJT R. A. Tugwell A.A.C.); Police Long Service Medal, ( Const. Reginald Tugwell ), mounted for wearing, all fine. Staff Sargent Tugwell, of the Glider Pilot Regiment, Horsa pilot and veteran of Arnhem, joined the Royal Signals in 1942, and transfered to the A.A.C in August 1944, a month before Operation Market Garden. He saw action at Oosterbeek, after the War he joined the Police Force and later became the Standard bearer for the Glider Pilot Regimental Association.
