Each with octagonal sighted barrel, serial numbered cylinder and frame, the latter etched on one side 'Adams Patent' and stamped with the maker's mark (Neue Stockel 1257), and stamped 'Adams 1851 Patent' on the other, hammer, rammer, arbor-pin, trigger-guard and butt-cap, the latter with hinged butt-trap cover, all blued and etched against a gilt ground with strapwork and foliage inhabited on one revolver by a winged monster on one side of the frame and with an eagle on the other, and on the other revolver by a lion on one side and a pheasant on the other, top-straps blued and etched with maker's details against a gilt ground, chequered rounded ebony grips, and most of their original finish: in original brass-mounted rosewood-veneered two-tier case lined in pink velvet (faded) with accessories including flask and bullet mould, the latter decorated en suite with the revolvers, the interior of the lid stamped in gilt letters 'Manufacture D'Armes A Feu De Auguste Francotte A Liège (Belgique), the exterior (split) with shaped brass escutcheon within brass borders 11.4 cm. and 10.8 cm. barrels [P. 515]
