A Rare Hongshan Yellowish-Green Jade Insect Larva-Form Pendant Neolithic period, Hongshan culture, circa 3500-3000 BC The thick, somewhat cylindrical pendant subtly carved on top with flattish eyes at one end above a series of five wide, shallow grooves, the remainder of the body plain and tapering slightly towards the other end, with a lengthwise channel drilled from both ends connected to two shorter channels drilled from each side and a third drilled from the underside, where saw marks are also visible, the yellowish-green jade with russet markings and good patina 2 13/16in.
