A RARE IMPERIAL MASSIVE GILT-INCISED ORANGE-BROWN LACQUER SQUARE-CORNER CABINET AND HAT CHEST, DINGXIANG LIGUI KANGXI Incised and decorated in gilt, red, green, black and other colors, all on a rich persimmon, orange-brown ground, the cabinet of characteristic rectangular shape, the pair of doors and removable central post decorated with a pair of confronted dragons writhing upwards on both sides of a slender rock emerging from breaking waves, the wide, cusped apron with a pair of confronted dragons writhing sideways towards the rock emerging from breaking waves, the hat chest repeating the decoration of the cabinet doors, the frame with widely spaced panels of dragons, the sides with cusped medallions of birds and flowers, incised bronze circular hinges and cusped circular escutcheons with double-dragon pulls, metal shoes to feet, some losses--overall height 106in. (269cm.), 50in. (127cm.) wide, 27½in. (69.9cm.) deep
