A RARE LARGE GILT LACQUERED BRONZE FIGURE OF GUANYIN SONG/YUAN DYNASTY, 13TH CENTURY The deity is finely cast seated in dhyanasana on a lotus pedestal with overlapping petals. One hand is held in vitarkamudra and the other is holding a small amphora. The deity is dressed in loose-fitting robes and wearing an elaborate beaded necklace. The serene face is framed by pendulous earlobes and a tiara housing a small seated Buddha. 27 7/8 in. (70.5 cm.) high.
