A RARE PAIR OF EMERALD AND DIAMOND EAR PENDANTS
A RARE PAIR OF EMERALD AND DIAMOND EAR PENDANTS Each set with an emerald drop weighing approximately 30.26 and 30.09 carats, joined to the brilliant-cut diamond cap, suspended from an emerald bead surmount weighing approximately 8.17 and 7.24 carats, within a brilliant-cut diamond surround and centre, mounted in platinum, 5.3 cm long Accompanied by report no. 69690 dated 29 August 2013 from the SSEF Swiss Gemmological Institute stating that the emeralds weighing approximately 30.00 and 30.00 carat are of Colombia origin, with indications of clarity modification: moderate amount of oil in fissures Also accompanied by report no. CS 50395 A and B dated 23 April 2013 from the American Gemological Laboratories stating that based on available gemological information, it is the opinion of the Laboratory that the emeralds weighing 30.26 and 30.09 carat is natural, the origin of this material would be classified as Classic Colombia, clarity enhancement: minor (traditional); also accompanied by a letter stating that the emeralds are singularly distinguished and together make a pair of unique rarity. Both exhibit an intense and saturated green colour that is representative of top-quality stone from Colombia. Emeralds of such colour and quality are commonly referred to as "old-mine" emeralds and are considered to have originated from the Muzo mining district in Western flank of the Cordillera Oriental. AGL has developed a match pair rating that defines the comparative similarity in appearance of two gemstones and reflects the uniformity of all quality parameters. These two emeralds described received a rating of Excellent. The total combination of quality elements, origin determination and match rating represents a particularly fine example for a unique combination of Classic Colombian emeralds. In addition, these emeralds combine for an impressive total weight of 60 ct Report no. CS 42137 A and B dated 2 April 2013 from the American Gemological Laboratories stating that based on available gemological information, it is the opinion of the Laboratory that the emeralds weighing 8.17 and 7.24 carat are natural, clarity enhancement: minor (oil) (2)
