A RARE SET OF FOUR MASSIVE HUAMU -INSET HUANGHUALI -VENEERED ZHANGMU COMPOUND CABINETS AND HAT CHESTS, SIJIANGUI 18TH CENTURY Each of massive rectangular form, the hat chest with attractive quatrelobed huamu panels set into the square-panel doors fitted flush around the removable center stile, above the large cabinet with rectangular panel doors also inset with beautifully grained huamu panels, the uppermost panel finely inlaid in huanghuali with precious objects and antiques, each door fitted flush around the removable center stile and opening to reveal the shelved interior above two drawers, above a horizontal panel inset with three further quatrelobed huamu panels, and plain aprons and apron-head spandrels, all in zhangmu with huanghuali veneer on the front 109 in. (276.9 cm.) high, 59 in. (150 cm.) wide, 25 in. (63.3 cm.) deep (4)
