Beschreibung:

The 18" quadrangular blade carries various marks to gauge powder and must have been used with one of the largest cannons in Renaissance Europe. The blade of characteristic form stamped with two indecipherable maker's marks at forte. The writhen quillons are superbly forged and decorated with slashes. The pommel of a turban shape en suite with the quillons. The fluted wire wrapped grip with two all steel Turk's heads, displaying remarkable quality throughout. CONDITION: Blade is mostly grey polished metal with clean pitting at ricasso. Quillons are polished but not overly pitted, showing good exfoliation. Pommel exfoliated at top indicating forging rather than casting. Grip is in superb condition throughout. This 25" long cannoneer's stiletto is the largest and finest one it has been our pleasure to catalog. A remarkable dagger sure to be the center piece of any Renaissance edged weapon collection. Name Value Blade Length 18" Overall Length 25" Paperwork
