A remarkable collection of Great war era autographs and ephemera, formed by 2nd Lieutenant E.J. Pyke, R.F.A. (later Captain R.A.F), in three albums and comprising: cut out autographs collected from: King George V, King Albert of the Belgians, General Sir Douglas Haig, Field Marshall Lord Roberts, General Sir John French General Charles Townsend, General Sir Horace Lockwood Smith-Dorrien (with self-deprecating M/S covering note: "...you are welcome to have my valueless signature.....")*, General Sir Ian Hamilton General Sir William Robertson U.S. General John Pershing (Commander of the American Expeditionary Force), General Sir David Henderson (principal leader in British Military Aviation), General Sir Julian Byng, Lt-Gen Sir W.R. Birdwood, Major General Francis Lloyd, General Hugh Trenchard (the 'Father of the R.A.F.'), General Henry Wilson (Soldier and Irish Unionist, murdered by the IRA in London in 1922), General Sir Edmund Allenby, General Sir Aylmer Hunter-Weston (one of the most colourful and controversial figures of the war), General Ferdinand Foch (France), General Gérard Leman (Belgian, celebrated as the stalwart defender of Liege in 1914), General Weygand (France), Commodore Roger Keyes (Submarine Flotilla Commander), Admiral Sir David Beatty (Commanded the Battle Cruiser fleet at the Battle of Jutland), Admiral Sir John Jellicoe (Commanded the Grand Fleet at Jutland), Admiral Sir Frederick Sturdee (Admiral von Spee's nemesis at the Battle of the Falklands), U.S. Admiral William Sims (M/S continuation to a dictated letter), Admiral John Arbuthnot 'Jackie' Fisher (seminal naval reformer and proponent of the all-big-gun battleship principal, who brought about the construction of H.M.S. Dreadnought), Mabel Annie St Clair Stobart (heroic nurse who distinguished herself particularly in the bitter conflict on the Serbian front, and who was the first woman to attain the rank of Major in any national army (the Royal Serbian Army)), H.M. Queen Alexandra, May Tennant, Ethel Pearson, Violet Markham, Dame Katherine Furse (Director of the W.R.N.S.), and many others, most on small pieces of card provided for the purpose, some (eg.
