A ROSEWOOD AND ORMOLU-MOUNTED BUREAU PLAT, in the Regence style, the rounded rectangular top inset with a simulated leather panel, and mounted with a broad moulded edge with shell and acanthus-cast clasps, the frieze of sinuous outline, centred by an ormolu-framed drawer and flanked by two drawers each with a cornucopia of fruit, the reverse also with three identically mounted drawers, the ormolu-framed sides, each with a waved apron and centred by a female mask, the angles mounted with a scrolled female mask, the cabriole legs with foliate sabots, the underside of the handles stamped P.E. GUERIN NY 39 (the underside of the frieze stamped 5 and the frame 7688), late 19th century 63in. (160cm.) wide; 30½in. (77.5cm.) high; 36¾in. (93.5cm.) deep
