a set of four french bronze allegorical relief plaques, c.1870 The square panels cast in high relief depicting classically draped figures, each panel depicting the figures playing different mucisal instruments, zithers, lutes, horns and drums respectively, each panel incised with the fondeurs name to the bottom left corner F. BARBEDIENNE 10 5/8in. x 10in. (27 x 25.5cm.); later mounted on wood panels, patined to simulated green marble 14½in. x 14in. (36.8 x 35.5cm.) overall (4)
