A Sèvres (hard paste) grey-ground Royal Presentation tête à tête 1816, the tray signed C.Develly 1816 , blue printed interlaced L mark enclosing a fleur-de-lys above Sèvres to each piece, the tray with crowned blue printed interlaced L mark and gilder's Q.A. and D.Y. of Durosey , various incised marks including DL, 9Z12 to teapot, CS to milk-jug, DL to sugar-bowl, Le and 2 to cups and 2 to saucers and Le to tray Each piece painted with a harvesting scene within a rectangular gilt gadrooned cartouche surrounded by grisaille rural trophies including birds, animals, figures, foliage and flowers between richly gilt band rims, the lower rim with gilt stiff leaves and stylised tulips, the spouts, handles and interiors to the cups richly gilt, comprising: An oviform teapot and inset cover ( Théïère Pestum ) with high scroll handle, painted with a beekeeper collecting a swarm beside bee skeps and picking cherries in an extensive landscape, the shoulder gilt with birds among garlands of fruit and foliage (minute flake to enamel in foreground of fruit picking scene), 7¼in. (18.5cm.) high A slender oviform milk-jug ( Pot à lait Pestum ) with a milk-maid and butter making before a cottage in a wooded landscape, the lip gilt with stylised scrolling foliage, cornucopiæ and cockerels' heads (handle restored), 7½in. (19cm.) high An oviform sugar-bowl and flared cover ( Pot à sucre Pestum, 2 ème grandeur ) with gilt lions' mask handles, painted with melons in a vegetable garden and figures by a well, the reverse with apple-pickers, the cover gilt with pears and pineapples (very slight flaking to enamels of vegetable garden scene and to gilt border), 5¼in. (13.5cm.) high Two cups and saucers ( Tasses à thé anglaises, 1 ère grandeur ) with harvesters gathering hay and corn in extensive landcapes, the saucers with elaborate grisaille winged caryatid figures and harvest trophies. An oval tray, the gilt oblong octagonal cartouche with grape-pressing, a picnic and figures dancing while others arrive with the grapes from the vineyard, the border gilt with birds among scrolling vine (some minute flaking to enamels in the foreground), inscribed on the reverse in ink Mr. de Bart Brusley , 17½in.
