A SEVRES (HARD PASTE) TETE-A-TETE 1773, PURPLE AND IRON-RED CROWNED INTERLACED L'S TO SOME PIECES, DATE LETTER U, VARIOUS PAINTER'S MARKS INCLUDING CHAPPUIS LE JEUNE , FALLOT, L'ECOT AND THEVENET FILS Painted with figures and couples at various pursuits, within gilt cartouches below gilt lines entwined with berried laurels, the plain border with swags of flowers, comprising: A two-handled quatrefoil tray ( plateau á baguettes ) An oviform teapot and cover ( théière 'Calabre' ) An ogee-sided sugar-bowl and cover ( pot á sucre Herbert ) A milk-jug ( pot á lait á trois pieds ) Two cylindrical cups and saucers (the tray with minute chipping to handles, the teapot with a minute shallow footrim chip, one cup with two small chips to footrim, some minor wear to gilding) The tray 15 5/8 in. (40.3 cm.) wide
