A SILVER CUP AND COVER BY OMAR RAMSDEN AND ALWYN CHARLES ELLISON CARR AND LATER ADAPTED AND STRUCK WITH THE MARK OF WILLIAM EVANS LONDON, 1949 The tapering cylindrical bowl on a rising pedestal foot with a 'gem' set knop, the foot and lower body cast and chased with scalework, the foot with a further band of foliage blossoms and a twisted wire motif, the detachable cover spiral fluted and with a foliage border below a finial cast as a knight, supported on 'gem' set wing motifs, chased with a coat-of-arms, and with further vacant shields, marked near the rim and on cover bezel, the cover bezel further struck with the mark of Ramsden and Carr 22¾ in. (58 cm.) high gross weight 74 oz. (2,300 gr.) The arms are those of Inner Temple.
