A SILVER EWER AND BASIN OTTOMAN TURKEY, PERIOD OF ABDULHAMID II (1876-1909 AD) Of typical form, the ewer with pear-shaped body rising to flaring mouth, hinged pear-shaped domed lid with floral finial, cast handle with scrolling leaf-motifs, curved spout, the basin on short foot rising to rounded body with widening curved sides, aperture of basin closed by detachable support for ewer with pierced floral and geometric design, body of ewer and interior side of basin with engraved interlocking lozenge pattern, numerous tughras and sah marks on both ewer and basin, very good condition Ewer 13in. (33cm.); basin 15¾in. (40cm.) diam. (3)
