A SMALL PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE BIRD-FORM FINIAL/INSIGNIA SHANG DYNASTY, CIRCA 1200 BC Thickly cut and tapering to a plain pointed tab, carved as a bird, probably an owl, shown in profile, the large head with pierced, hooked beak surmounted by bifurcated notched feathers in front and two feathers in back that form loops at the tips, the wings delineated by grooves and the back with chevrons, the stone with some brown alteration; together with a small greenish-yellow jade dragon-form pendant carved from a fragment, Shang dynasty, Anyang phase, carved on both sides as a bottle-horn dragon coiled around a circular opening and slit, pierced near the edge of the head 2 1/8 and 1 3/8 in.
