A star and badge of the Order of St. Anne with paste diamonds circa 1880; St. Petersburg, circa 1870, with illegible workmaster's initials; by Nicholls and Plincke, St. Petersburg, circa 1870 The silver and silver-gilt pointed star set with paste diamonds enclosing a central medallion surmounted by an Imperial crown and centered by a red guilloché cross within wide red guilloché band set with the motto of the Order: Amantibus justiam pietatem, fidem , 'For Lovers of Justice, Pity and Fidelity', with a hinged pin on the reserve, apparently unmarked ; the badge of traditional shape extensively set with paste diamonds, in a original fitted box, the cover stamped with F. Butz joailler de la Cour St. Peterburg surmounted by the Imperial eagle; together with a stylized silver and enamel star of the Order of St. Anne, designed to imitate a star set with diamonds, the reverse with a screw The star 3½ in.
