A SWISS ENAMELLED GOLD SNUFF-BOX SET WITH AN ENAMEL PLAQUE BY GUIDON, GIDE AND BLONDET, MARKED, GENEVA, CIRCA 1801-1815 Rectangular box with cut corners, the cover decorated with translucent blue enamel on a guilloché ground, bordered by pellets of lilac enamel and gold palms, centred with a hexagonal plaque painted in sepia on a red opalescent ground with a sacrifice at love's altar in antiquity, lozenge frosted gold clasps chased with pastoral trophies comprising Venus' sacred roses, Ceres' corn and sickle, a veil-draped bacchic ewer, tazza and fruit basket together with a trophy of Music clustered by a bacchic thyrsus, the sides and base enamelled in translucent blue on a guilloché ground, framed with opaque white enamel, the cut corners enamelled with Flora's flower, a trophy of Harvest, bacchic vines and a theatric trophy; brown hinged leather case, the interior cover stamped 'BULGARI ROMA' 3¾ in.
