A SWISS OR GERMAN JEWELLED AND ENAMELLED VARI-COLOUR GOLD PRESENTATION BOX THE BOX PROBABLY GENEVA, NEUCHATEL OR HANAU, CIRCA 1820 THE MINIATURE BY JOHANNES ZEHNGRAF (DANISH, 1857-1908) WITH RUBBED SIGNATURE Rectangular box, the lid enamelled in translucent royal blue on a wavy guilloché ground, centred with a raised old-cut diamond-bordered miniature on ivory depicting King Ferdinand I of Bulgaria (1861-1948), in uniform, flanked by fourteen diamond-set fleurs-de-lys , the borders of the cover, base and sides cast with vari-colour gold tulips, scrolling foliage and leaf and berry moulding on a sablé ground, the sides and base centred with cartouches of engine-turned scalework 3 3/8 in.
