Circa 1800 The case of typical form, with entwined serpent handle to the top and leaf-cast bosses to the sides, silk-backed pierced rear door and on toupie feet, with beaded bezel to the white enamel Arabic dial signed Robert/&/Courvoisier , with ormolu main hands and blued steel alarm hand, the movement with chain and fusee for the going train and barrel for the strike train, verge balance escapement with regulation disc to the side, strikework positioned on the back plate, pull wind alarm and quarter strike/repeat on two bells, the back plate numbered 8863 7 1/8 in. (18.5 cm.) high, handle down
