A TRANSITIONAL GREY-PAINTED AND PARCEL-GILT BED of serpentine form, the channelled frame entwined overall with laurel, the head and footends, cushions and valance covered in yellow floral-patterned striped silk, with panelled side piece covered en suite with quiver, torch and winged heart finial, with oak-leaf-carved apron and on acanthus-carved square tapering legs, re-gilt and previously gilded overall, each piece painted R495 , extended approximately by 12in. 85in. (216cm.) long, overall; 61in. (155cm.) high; 55in. (140cm.) wide: TOGETHER WITH THE ORIGINAL SET OF FRENCH EMBROIDERED SILK HANGINGS, each embroidered with ribbon-entwined floral sprays alternating with double foliate banding against a cream ground, all basted onto silk lining, together with two bolster ends, miscellaneous gimp and silk buttons comprising: four pillowcase covers 26 x 25in. (66 x 63.5cm.) two shaped panels 44 x 46½in. (112 x 118cm.) a headboard panel 32 x 75½in. (81.5 x 192cm.) and seven variously sized panels 12½ x 76in. (32 x 193cm.), 21 x 48½in. (53.5 x 123cm.), 31 x 54in. (79 x 137cm.), 30¼in. x 50in. (77 x 127cm.), 29½ x 50½in. (75 x 128.5cm.), 31½ x 50in. (80 x 127cm.), and the largest 54¼ x 76in. (138.5 x 193cm.)
