Birt, J. newbery and J. Collyer Date: 1745 Description: [xvi], 347, 39 pp. (8vo) 7¾x4¾, period calf with modern rebacking. First Edition. "Pascoe Thomas kept a full and faithful daily journal of the incidents of this important four-year voyage. Included are a very interesting list of subscribers names and an appendix giving an account of the treasure taken from the Nuestra Signora del Buono Carmella. This account of the voyage preceded the publication of the official account of Lord Anson's voyage by three years." (Hill p. 291). Lot Amendments Condition: Edges worn; browning and foxing throughout, stain to several pages, a few leaves with short marginal tears; else good. Item number: 193664
