A TWO-COLOUR GOLD-MOUNTED NEPHRITE TABLE LIGHTER MARKED FABERGÉ, WITH THE WORKMASTER'S MARK OF MICHAEL PERCHIN, ST PETERSBURG, 1899-1903, SCRATCHED INVENTORY NUMBER 4834 Of elongated ovoid form, with a reeded rose gold domed detachable cover to the lighter-well, surmounted by the wick holder cast as acanthus leaves, the nephrite body tapering into a reeded gold base with a pendant finial cast as a pinecone, the body supported by three angular feet chased with geometric designs and applied with rosettes, all on shaped triangular nephrite base with a lobed gold border, with the original wick, marked on mounts; in a fitted Wartski case 6 ½ in. (16.5 cm.) high Provenance Jointly purchased by Emperor Nicholas II (1868-1918) and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna (1872-1918) from the St Petersburg branch of Fabergé on 8 January 1902 for 335 roubles, paid 167.5 roubles each.
