A valuable accumulation of Q.V., main strength is in Surface Printed issues but with 1840 1d. (4), later Line Engraved with quantity of 2d. Plates; Surface Printed in packets, booklets and some in bundles tied with cotton includes 1855-57 4d. in packet, 6d. bundles (4) and 1/- (175), 1862-64 3d. (57), 4d. bundles (2), 6d. bundles (4), 9d. (163) and 1/- (48), 1865-67 including 9d. (45), 1867-80 values to 9d. (58), 10d. (180) and 2/- blue (27), 1873-80 including 4d. sage-green in packets, 8d. orange (120) and others. The condition is mixed as is to be expected though finer than usually encountered in a lot of this nature making a superb stock, unsorted for varieties and postmarks. (thousands)
