A very rare English Victorian gilt bronze sculptural quarter striking table clock last quarter 19th Century arched 14-cm dial with foliate engraved gilt brass dial, engraved silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and strike/silent in the arch, blued hands, two train fusee and chain movement with ring turned baluster pillars and maintaining power numbered 13698, ratchet tooth platform escapement with bi-metallic balance and foliate engraved bridge, rack quarter striking on two gongs, well cast and chiseled gilt bronze case with well worked detail surmounted by an eagle, shaped top with foliate scrolls adourned with flowers and animal masks, protruding scrolls to the corners flanking the similar adourned sides with well shaped handles, apron base with further scrolls and shells showing a boar hunt, the whole raised feet incorporating lion heads 55cm. high.
