A VERY RARE FRENCH FIRST EMPIRE REGULATION FLINTLOCK PISTOL D'ARCON, FOR A MAMELOUK LIGHT CAVALRY OFFICER OF THE GARDE IMPÉRIALE, M R E IMP L E DE VERSAILLES Dated 1809 With sighted barrel struck with the mark of Jean-Baptiste Lefebvre ( réviseur à Versailles 1807-'11) together with that of Jacquesson ( inspecteur 1809-'11) on the short octagonal breech and dated 1809, regulation lock with stamped manufactory inscription and struck with the mark of André Niçaise ( réviseur 1808-'11), figured pale walnut full stock with circular stamp opposite the lock (indistinct) and that of contrôleur Jean-Baptiste Deschaseaux behind the barrel tang, regulation brass mounts, and later ramrod. 16½ i n (41.9cm)
