MARK OF CHARLES RAWLINGS AND WILLIAM SUMMERS, LONDON, 1845, 18CT
A VICTORIAN GOLD SNUFF-BOX MARK OF CHARLES RAWLINGS AND WILLIAM SUMMERS, LONDON, 1845, 18CT The oblong box with slightly incurving sides, the cover, sides and base each engraved with trailing foliage, the cover further engraved with a coat-of-arms, marked inside base and inside cover 3¼ in. (8.4 cm.) wide 5.7 oz. (176 gr.) The arms are those of Gilman as borne by the Gilman family of Clonteadmore, co. Cork, probably for Herbert Gillman of Clonteadmore (1791-1878).
