A VICTORIAN MAHOGANY MONTH GOING WALL REGULATOR E. J. DENT, LONDON, NO. 673. CIRCA 1845 CASE: with fully glazed detachable front section, the backboard with a pair of finely engraved and silvered height and beat scales; case key DIAL: the 10¾ in. diameter engraved and silvered dial of regulator format signed 'E. J. DENT LONDON/Clock Maker to the Queen/673', blued steel hands MOVEMENT: mounted on brackets numbered '673', the substantial plates joined by four rear-screwed pillars, Harrison's maintaining power and high count train, the dead beat escapement mounted on the back plate and having jewelled pallets and club-toothed 'scape wheel, the two-piece crutch with fine beat adjustment, repeat signature to the back plate; steel jar mercury pendulum (mercury removed), fine regulating weights, brass weight, crank winding key 65 in. (165 cm.) high; 11¼ in. (28.5 cm.) wide; 8½ in. (21.5 cm.) deep
