MARK OF HORACE WOODWARD AND CO. LTD., LONDON, 1898
A VICTORIAN SILVER INKSTAND MARK OF HORACE WOODWARD AND CO. LTD., LONDON, 1898 Oblong on four ball and claw feet, with egg-and-dart border, centre mounted with receivers for two silver-mounted glass bottles flanking a central oval compartment with hinged cover, the latter engraved with an 'A' cypher below a viscount's coronet 11 5/8 in. (29.5 cm.) long 28.8 oz. (895 gr.) The cypher is that of Charles Robert Spencer Viscount Althorp, later 6th Earl Spencer (1857-1922).
