A WELL CARVED BAMBOO BRUSHPOT QING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY Of eliptical form, very finely carved in high relief with a continuous mountain landscape scene, detailed with two elderly scholars playing weiqi under the shade of pine trees, beside two lady attendants and two boy servants preparing tea, the reverse of the brushpot depicting an equestrian bearing a banner and riding towards the scholars, the bamboo of a rich reddish-brown tone 4 3/4 in. (12.3 cm.) high
