A well detailed and finely constructed large scale waterline model of Captain Robert Falcon Scott's Discovery [1912] with masts, yards with footropes, standing and running rigging, full suit of linen sails, jib-boom nets, carved figurehead in the form of a maiden, admiralty pattern anchors, deck rails, fairleads, bollards, derricks, capstan, belaying rails, bitts and pinns, bell with canopy and companionways. Superstructure details include deckhouse with glazed bridge over, wing bridges with telegraphs, four covered ships boats, two in chocks and two in derricks, sail winch, stayed funnel with saftery valve extension pipe and hooter, ventilators, engine room lights, gratings, aft emergency double helm, lockers, and many other details. The hull with planked deck, booms, boarding foot plates, carved stern decoration and rudder is finished in black and varnish and mounted in a blue wooden 'sea' within a plexi-glass travelling case with handles Measurements overall -- 116 x 189 x 54 cm.
