A well detailed display model of the American steam yacht 'Aphrodite' of 1898 , with masts, spars with foot ropes, standing and running rigging, carved figurehead, anchors, anchor winch and davit, deck rails, companionways, cleats and bollards, superstructure with wood capped deck rails, wheel house with open bridge over with appropriate equipment, deck lights, stayed funnel, belaying rails and pins, lockers, four life boats and four other ship's boats, three with bottom boards, thwarts and oars, the hull finished in 'copper' and black with planked natural wood decks -- 19 x 41in. (48.3 x 104.2cm.) . Display base, glazed case and stand Aphrodite was designed by Charles Hansrom for O.H. Payne and built at Bath Iron Works Ltd.
