A well detailed fully planked and framed, fully rigged 3/8in:1ft. scale model of the Bristol Channel Pilot Cutter No.2 'Hilda', built by N.Rogers -- 27 x 25¼in (68.5 x 64.2cm) With mast, booms and standing and running rigging with scale blocks, signal halyards and full suit of stitched linen sails with rope bindings and reefing points, anchor, windlass, belaying rails and pins, deck rings, bitts, companionway, cockpit, tiller, sweeps, boat hook and clinker built ship's boat with frames, bottom boards, thwarts and oars. Finished in red and black with natural wood planked and caulked deck, white bulwarks and sails, mounted on two turned brass columns. Glazed case and legend. NOTE: 'Hilda' was built at Pill in 1899 by John Cooper for Captain Sydney Watkins and named after his daughter. She was rundown and sunk by the steam tug 'Brunel' off Portishead in 1912.
