A well detailed fully planked and rigged 1:48 scale model of the 18-gun Atlanta Class Sloop of War 'Ariadne' of circa 1775 built from Admiralty and National Maritime Museum plans by M. Puttock -- 29½ x 42in. (75 x 106.5cm.) With bound masts, yards with stun's'l booms with hand wound ropes and scale blocks, standing and running rigging, carved female figurehead, hair rails, anchors with bound wooden stocks, catheads, bitts, belaying rails and pins, deck rails, companionways, gratings, bell, 6-pdr guns in carriages, swivel guns, planked and framed clinker built ship's boat with bottom boards, thwarts and oars and other details. The hull, planked in walnut with ebony whale, lime and boxwood fittings and wood tre'nails has carved stern and quarter window decoration with scroll and female head decoration. Finished in contrasting woods and matt varnish. Stand
