A well detailed wood and metal model of the Southampton class destroyer HMS 'Manchester' built by ERA G Gigney (a survivor of the crew) -- 17 x 55in (43 x 139.5cm) With signal towers, radio, radar and other aerials and deck details including anchors and winches, bollards, deck rails, companionways, ventilators lockers, seven ship's boats, torpedo tubes, detailed bridge and superstructure, hose reels, main, secondary and anti-aircraft armament, bridge with binnacle and speaking tubes, search lights, Supermarine Walrus aircraft, cranes, range finders and many other details. The hull, of sandwich construction, fitted with bilge keels, two shafts with 'A' brackets, three blade propellers and rudder. Finished in red, black and grey with green and varnish decks.
