A well engineered, partially complete 1in. scale model Allchin single cylinder four shaft, two speed general purpose traction engine, built by R. Cottingham, with silver soldered and riveted copper boiler with fittings including water gauge with shut-off cocks, safety, blower, injector, water lift, clack and blowdown valves. Engine details include cylinder 1in. bore x in. stroke, trunk type crosshead guide, ratchet operated lubricator, pickering-type governor and pulleys, wedged and bolted big end, eccentric driven feed pump (eccentric rods and valve gear not built) , two road speeds (gear change not built) and spoked flywheel. Chassis details include spoked, straked wheels with brass hub caps, sprung front axle, spud pan, worm and roller chain steering, foot plate controlled damper, winch drum cable and fairleads, riveted tender tank with steps and draw bar, water lift, injector, band brake to third shaft, wooden foot board and tool box with padlock, the whole mainly unpainted or in undercoat -- 17in. (43.8 x 64.8cm.) . Box of finished parts not fitted, including lubricator tank top, third shaft oil pot lid, oil pump, oil can, second shaft guard, sight glass and 'O' rings, name and number plates, tool tray and driving pins and other small pieces.
