A well presented and detailed fully rigged model of the Aberdeen double topsail merchant schooner 'Mirage' of circa 1845, built by K. Britten with masts, spars with stun's'l booms and foot ropes, fine standing and running rigging with scale blocks, full suit of stitched linen sails with hand stitched bolt ropes and reefing points, anchors, whisker booms, belaying rails and pins, windlass, stove pipe, companionway, hatches, head, deck rings, galley with stove, coal bunker and cooking utensils, deck winch, bilge pumps, deck light, decoratively carved tiller and two clinker built ship's boats, one in chocks, one in davits, both with bottom boards, thwarts, oars and rudders. The hull of yellow pine, finished in brown, black, green and white with 'gilded' bow decoration, has planked bulwarks, scuppers and rudder -- 40 x 64in. (101.5 x 162.5cm.). Stand See illustration
