A WELL-PRESENTED MUSEUM STANDARD STATIC DISPLAY 1:96 SCALE MODEL OF THE 'S' CLASS DESTROYER H.M.S. SERAPIS (1945) finely modelled by J. Haynes with details including signal mast with radar, radio and other aerials, halyards and rigging, anchors with 'D' chains, hawse pipes, capstans, fairleads, bollards, deck rails, main and anti-aircraft armament, lockers, ladders, superstructure with detailed wheelhouse with fire control and associated equipment over, Carley floats, one sailing and one motor launch in quick-launch davits, stayed funnel with safety valve extension pipes and hooters, searchlights platform, companionways, two stands of four torpedo tubes, depth charges in racks and much other fine detailing. The moulded hull with bilge keels, boarding companionway, twin shafts on 'A' brackets to three-blade brass propellers and rudder, is finished in grey, black and pink and mounted on two turned brass columns on display base with legend and wood-bound glazed cover. Overall measurements -- 15¾ x 50in. (40 x 127cm.) See illustration
