A WILLIAM AND MARY GILTWOOD AND RED AND GOLD DECORATED VERRE EGLOMISE PIER GLASS CIRCA 1700 With rectangular bevelled plate below a shaped arched plate in a moulded slip and foliate and strapwork border with four foliate divides and six verre églomisé foliate divides in a moulded frame, the reverse with 18th century paper label inscribed in ink '... 6 /- (?) Crimson Bed Room', with remains of paper covering the backboards inscribed in ink '...shall be at Hornby tomorrow only ...', inscribed in pencil 'JnFd 1 - 8¾ 1 - 8½', and with chalk inscription 'LADY CAMILLE HARRIS', five border plates with cracks, the lower plate replaced and the upper plate possibly 18th or 19th century, the inner slip and the corner giltwood leaves probably replaced in the 19th century 94 x 46¾ in. (239 x 119 cm.)
