Trois parties en un volume petit in-folio (300 x 200 mm). Vélin à recouvrements, large fleuron losangé doré au centre des plats, dos lisse, tranches dorées (Reliure de l’époque).
Quelques mouillures dans les marges et plusieurs cahiers un peu brunis. Marge intérieure du premier cahier renforcée. Reliure légèrement gondolée, une charnière fendue. Manquent les lacets.
Édition originale de la traduction de la deuxième partie du Theatrum Europaeum de l'historien allemand Abelin publié pour la première fois en 1633.Exemplaire colorié à l’époque.
L’illustration comprend un titre-frontispice gravé, 7 cartes (Nova Europa, Germania Nova, Tabula Electoratus Brandenburgici, Franconia Ducatus, Regni Bohemiae Nova Descritpio, Silesiae Ducatus et Saxonia Superior, cum Lusitanias et Misniae) et 51 planches hors texte (vues de villes, scènes de batailles, fortifications, etc.), la plupart sur double page et plusieurs dépliantes, gravées d'après Matthäus Merian l'Ancien.
Les 50 portraits de personnalités politiques et militaires, dont celui de Charles Ier d'Angleterre d'après Anthony van Dyck et les 10 vues de villes (dont Vienne et Maastricht) dans le texte sont, pour la plupart, signés Cornelis Danckerts
