Early Italian vellum over pasteboard, modern red morocco-backed cloth slipcase. Provenance : 18th-century armorial bookplate of a cardinal (unidentified); Georgius Bergonci (armorial bookplate). FIRST EDITION of the first work to include any part of Leonardo's Trattato della Pittura. The work is divided into three parts: on the simple laws of perspective, on various solid figures, and on light and shade.
