ADAMS, LONDON A CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION REVOLVER, MODEL 'ADAM'S PATENT', serial no. 31063R, circa 1858, with octagonal 5 1/2in. barrel, dove-tail for fore-sight (loose but present), standing notch rear-sight to the back of the solid top-strap, wingnut cylinder pin release, plain five-shot cylinder with matching number, borderline engraved frame with sliding safe to the right hand side and engraved with a monogram 'W.H.A', double action mechanism (operating on double action only), spurred hammer, chequered walnut saw-handled grip, domed iron butt-cap and guarded trigger, the left side of barrel fitted with a Kerr-style rammer, strong traces of blued finish remaining and complete with its oak storage case, lined and compartmented in green baize (some mothing), 'E.M. Reilly & Co.' trade-label inside lid and complete with a James Dixon lozenge flask and pewter oil bottle, an unsigned double cavity mould, an adams suede pouch for caps, ebony cleaning rod with mahogany bun handle and a small ebony turn-screw, all probably original to the revolver
