AELIANUS, Claudius. Opera, quae extant, omnia. In Greek and Latin. Zurich: Andreas and Hans Jacob Gessner, [1566]. 2° (316 x 208mm). Title with woodcut printer’s device, device repeated on Ii6 v and verso of final leaf, woodcut illustrations and diagrams, one double-page, historiated woodcut initials. (Title and verso of final leaf a little soiled, small marginal wormhole in title and following 5 leaves, light waterstaining in upper margin at beginning, lightly browned and quite spotted.) Contemporary vellum gilt, double fillets with floral cornerpieces, coat-of-arms in centre (gilt faded, lightly soiled, a little rubbed, lacking ties, new endpapers). Provenance: Haranburu-Aituna, Alegia (stamp on title) – erased stamp below.
