after Edmund Thomas Parris the young queen depicted standing in the royal box, in tiara and pendant earrings, in white silk dress with extravagant lace cuffs, blue sash, black lace shawl and long white silk gloves, one hand resting on a fur stole, the other holding a small bouquet, watercolour heightened with body white, signed lower left, c.1837, 31 x 24cm (12 x 9 1/2 in). *** The National Portrait Gallery holds another portrait of Queen Victoria by Warman (NPG 1891a), copied from the original oil by Thomas Sully dating to 1838. The collection also has an engraving after this Parris portrait of Victoria (NPG D33573 or D10862), by Charles Edward Wagstaff, published Hodgson & Graves, 1838. Another copy of a royal portrait by Warman is that of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, as a boy in a sailor suit, after Franz Xavier Winterhalter. Condition report disclaimer
