After Louis-Simon Boizot (French 1743 ~ 1809), an Empire patinated bronze, marble and ormolu mounted bust of Napoleon Bonapart as First Consul, early 19th century, portrayed looking straight ahead, with tousled hair, with high braided collars to his buttoned coat; the circular section waisted marble socle atop a cylindrical ormolu plinth applied with relief cast mask and foliate mounts, on a square section base, 38cm high Louis-Simon Boizot sculpted numerous studies of Napoleon, some of which were designed for production in porcelain. The original of this particular model of 1800 was preserved at the Sèvres porcelain factory.
